Cleaning aquarium glass

Everyone that has been keeping pet fishes,must have had suffered the ugly look of their aquarium due to the aquarium glass becoming dirty(water spots on the outside and algae on the inside).

For aquarists,who put loads of efforts in maintaining their aquariums the idea of a bad looking aquarium is just revolting.

So here are some tips for cleaning the aquarium glass and become the owner of a  beautiful spot free aquarium.

There are three easy ways for the above-

1. For cleaning the film of algae inside the glass,one can use a razor blade/scraper like the one above and use this with an extension for hard to reach places.

For cleaning the water spots on the outside,you can use a wet squeeze to wet the glass from the outside,and loosen the water spots.Once the front is wet you can use the squeeze again to get a sparkling shine to your aquarium glass.

2.For hard on calcium residues and spots,white vinegar can do wonders,and is fish friendly too.

3.You can also use paper towel instead of a squeeze for the outside.

And you will get streak free shining aquarium glass.

 

Some important precautions

*No matter how efficiently glass cleaners might work,never be tempted to use them.as any residuals left can be lethal to your fishes.

*Reserve the scrapper for aquarium use only as using it anywhere else might introduce harmful bacterias to your tank.
